Cal-bred Pair in San Simeon
ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 16, 2008) –
California-breds Unusual Suspect and Cheroot are entered in Saturday’s
$100,000 Grade III San Simeon Handicap at Santa Anita.
Unusual Suspect is by Unusual Heat,
out of the Crested Wave mare Penpont, was bred by David Abrams, was
foaled at Old English Rancho, is owned by David, Barry and Dyan Abrams
and is trained by Barry Abrams. He has six wins in 21 starts, earnings
of $471,177 and is coming off a fifth in the Dec. 31 Impressive Luck.
Cheroot is by Smokester, out of the
Far North mare Triple Connection, was bred by owner Charlotte Wrather,
was foaled at Cottonwood Ranch and is trained by Darrell Vienna. He has
seven wins in 29 starts, earnings of $494,501 and is coming off a sixth
in the Apr. 4 Sensational Star.
