Cal-bred Trio in Inaugural

FARMINGTON, N.M. (Apr. 16, 2008) -- California-breds Takin Issue, Trail This and Nosir are entered in Saturday’s $40,000 Inaugural Handicap at Sunray Park.

Takin Issue is by Twin Spires, out of the Falstaff mare Falstaff’s Issue, was bred by Harold Phenix, was foaled at Meadowcreek Ranch, is owned by Jerry Thomason and trained by M.D. Guinn. He has five wins in 31 starts, earnings of $158,346 and is coming off an eighth in the Mar. 15 Bill Thomas Memorial.

Trail This is by Trail City, out of the Strawberry Road mare Naga, was bred by Patricia Youngman, was foaled at Pepper Oaks Farm, is owned by trainer Robert Score. He has eight wins in 15 starts, earnings of $162,390 and is coming off a third in the Mar. 9 Coyote.

Nosir is by Cee’s Tizzy, out of the Al Nasr mare Stardust Dreams, was bred by Ron Stolich and Eddie Tannenbaum, was foaled at Blooming Hills, is owned by R.J. Racing and trained by Jacque Guerra. The $30,000 Barretts purchase has four wins in 25 starts, earnings of $86,449 and is coming off a second in a Mar. 25 allowance.
