Cal-bred Pair in Potrero Grande

ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 2, 2008) – California-bred Grade I winners Greg’s Gold and Johnny Eves renew their rivalry in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II Potrero Grande Handicap at Santa Anita.

Johnny Eves is by Skimming, out of the Capote mare Capote’s Halo, was bred by owners Mooncoin LLC and was foaled at Ridgeley Farms. He has five wins in 12 starts, earnings of $373,720 and is coming off a fourth in the Feb. 16 San Carlos.

Greg’s Gold is by Lake George, out of the Fit to Fight mare Lake Windermere, was bred by owner Bill Boswell and was foaled at Harris Farms. The Barretts graduate has eight wins in 24 starts, earnings of $947,923 and is coming off a second in the Feb. 16 San Carlos.
