Bob Black Jack Chooses Derby
ARCADIA, Calif. (Apr. 2, 2008) –
California-breds Bob Black Jack and Rosso Corsa are entered in
Saturday’s $750,000 Grade I Santa Anita Derby.
Bob Black Jack is by Stormy Jack,
out of the Native Prospector mare Molly’s Prospector, was bred by Gary
Howard, Marlene Howard and Bruce Dunmore, was foaled at Hideaway Farms
and is owned by Jeff Harmon and Tim Kasparoff. The $4,500 Barretts
purchase has three wins in six starts, earnings of $292925 and is coming
off a third in the Mar. 15 San Felipe.
Rosso Corsa is by Ferrari, out of
the Prized mare Prize Possession, was bred by Charlotte Wrather, foaled
at Cottonwood Ranch and owned by J.F. Ernenwein and Chris and Charlotte
Wrather. He is coming off a maiden win in his second start Mar. 7 with
earnings of $22,600.
