Slumping Shaggy Mane in Florida
HALLANDALE, Fla. (Mar. 26, 2008) –
California-bred Shaggy Mane, who won six of her first seven races, tries
to snap a five-race losing streak in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II
Shirley Jones Handicap for fillies and mares at Gulfstream Park.
Shaggy Mane is by Bertrando, out of
the Bel Bolide mare Witchy, was bred by Arnold Family Trust, was foaled
at River Edge Farm and is owned by IEAH Stables, Andrew and Steve Cohen,
Golden Goose Enterprises and Pegasus.
She has six wins in 14 starts,
earnings of $406,671 and is coming off a fifth in the Jan. 26 Sunshine
Millions Filly & Mare Sprint.
