Hillsborough Draws Cal-bred Six
Pack
SAN MATEO, Calif. (Mar. 26, 2008) –
Six California-breds are among the oversubscribed entries in Saturday’s
$55,000 Hillsborough Handicap for fillies and mares at Bay Meadows.
Loyal Bounty is by Loyal Double,
out of the Pirate’s Bounty mare Bonnet’s Bounty, was bred by Richard
Miller and is owned by Gary Austin and Barbara and W.L. Yates. She has
four wins in 15 starts, earnings of $111,242 and is coming off an eighth
in the Feb. 18 Buena Vista Handicap.
Codi Dee is by Kahuna Jack, out of
the Saros mare Strikingly Velvet, was bred by Mercedes Stable, was
foaled at Running Luck Ranch and is owned by Alex Statum. She has three
wins in 20 starts, earnings of $87,438 and is coming off a third in a
Feb. 17 optional claimer.
Andover the Cash is by Unusual
Heat, out of the Dynaformer mare Andover the Money, was bred by
Abrams/Roberts, Nakkashian and Johnson, was foaled at Old English Rancho
and is owned by William Deburgh.. She has four wins in 31 starts,
earnings of $144,618 and is coming off a fourth in the Mar. 1 Foster
City.
Beautiful Dixie is by Dixie Dot
Com, out of the Al Mamoon mare Just Beautiful, was bred by Ronnie
Heller, was foaled at Cardiff Stud Farm and is owned by Brett and
Michael Mortensen. She has four wins in 20 starts, earnings of $115,515
and is coming off a fifth in the Feb. 23 Bay Meadows Distaff Sprint.
Royal Kleven is by Kleven, out of
the Regal and Royal mare Royal Verbatim, was bred by Fred Watarida, was
foaled at Poplar Meadows and is owned by Donna Elordi and Leonard
Shoemaker. She has 10 wins in 32 starts, earnings of $410,823 and is
coming off a third in the Feb. 23 Bay Meadows Distaff Sprint. She was
fourth in this race two years ago.
Also eligible Dixie Magic is by
Dixie Dot Com, out of the Slew City Slew mare Urban Distraction, was
bred by owner Chaiken Family Trust and was foaled at Cardiff Stud Farm.
She has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $87,660 and is coming off
a second in a Feb. 17 optional claimer.
