Bold Chieftain Goes Mad

SAN MATEO, Calif. (Mar. 22, 2008) – Bold Chieftain outran favored Now Victory and Pass the Heat in a California-bred sweep of the top three spots in Saturday’s $70,980 March Madness Handicap at Bay Meadows.

Bold Chieftain is by Chief Seattle, out of the Seattle Dancer mare Hooked on Music, was bred by owners Langein, Morey, Robinson and Hall and foaled at Cardiff Stud Farm.

He has nine wins in 17 starts, earnings of $553,025 and was coming off a win in the Feb. 18 Presidio Handicap. He ran the mile on turf in 1:34.71 and won by one length at odds of 3-2.
