CTBA Board Approves NorCal Sale ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 11, 2004) -- The California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Board of Directors approved a plan to conduct a yearling sale in Northern California Sept. 28 if 150 horses are entered. The sale would be held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, effectively replacing the Wine Country yearling sale that had been conducted by American Equine Sales, which went bankrupt. CTBA general manager Doug Burge said the response from Northern California breeders has been strong and commitments already are in for nearly 150 horses. The entry fee will be $300 per horse with a minimum commission of $500. This would be the first CTBA auction in Northern California since 1993. 2004 CTBA Northern California Yearling Sale
