ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2003) -- Del Mar Yearling Sale graduate House of Fortune inched away from Silent Sighs after a stretch-long duel for a neck win in Saturday's $125,000 California Cup Robert H. Walter Juvenile Fillies at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

House of Fortune is a daughter of Free House, out of the Garthorn mare So Fortunate, and was bred by John Treasure. She was a $40,000 purchase at the Del Mar Yearling Sale and was re--sold to her current owners at Barretts for $125,000. She has won her last three races, including the Cover Gal Stakes, and has earnings of $154,004.

House of Fortune is owned by Arnold Zetcher LLC, trained by Ron McAnally and was ridden by Alex Solis, who also won the Cal Cup Matron with Royally Chosen. This was McAnally's first Cal Cup starter.

The narrow 9-5 choice, House of Fortune ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.61, the second-fastest time ever for the race behind Theresa's Pleasure's 1:42 2/5 in the inaugural running in 1990.

Coke's Melody was third, 10 lengths behind Silent Sighs.
