Fade to Blue Leads Starter ’Cap Lineup

ARCADIA, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2003) – Fade to Blue, who lost this race by a neck a year ago, leads a field of eight entered in Saturday’s $50,000 XTRA 690 California Cup Starter Handicap at 1 ˝ miles on the Santa Anita turf course.

Fade to Blue is by Prized, out of the Replant mare Green Again, and was bred by Cardiff Farm Management and Lee Anne Aiello. The 7-year-old hasn’t won a race since last year, racing most of the year on the East Coast. He has five wins and $283,282 in earnings.

Unamedthegame is by Musique d’Enfer, out of the Seattle Song mare Bless Shoe, and was bred by Jacquie Takaha & Lorenzo Preciado. He broke his maiden two races back for $32,000 and has never run on the turf.

Golden Bonus is by Bonus Money, out of the Gold Crest mare Golden Notion, and was bred by Ron Gomez. He was claimed for $20,000 in January and hasn’t won a race since, although has finished second six of the last 10 races including the last four.

Anziyan Royalty is by Anziyan, out of the Tank’s Prospect mare Shy Solana, and was bred by Nick Cafarchia. He has won two of his last three.

Passionforcashin is by Bonus Money, out of the Native Royalty mare Passion for Poker, and was bred by Emerald Meadows Ranch/Madigan/Cucchi. It took 12 tries and nearly two years to break his maiden, but he’s won his last two races.

Integral is by Chimes Band, out of the Monetary Gift mare Mellon Head, and was bred by John Zamora. He was a $15,000 Barretts purchase, broke his maiden at Turf Paradise and was claimed for $25,000 in August.

Mr. Steve is by Stage Colony, out of the Never Tabled mare Video Menu, and was bred by Ron Gomez. He has run three times this year, with a best finish of fifth.

First Insight is by Avenue of Flags, out of the Agitate mare Agitated Miss, and was bred by Priscilla Webb. He has two turf wins, one at Santa Anita.
