Excessivepleasure Can't Pass Snow Chief

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 23, 2003) -- Multiple stakes winner Excessivepleasure gets a distance test Saturday when he heads a field of nine entered in the 1 1/8 mile $250,000 Citibank Snow Chief Stakes for 3-year-olds, the featured race on the Gold Rush card at Hollywood Park.

Excessivepleasure is coming off a neck win in the Mar. 30 1 1/16 mile $500,000 WinStar Derby, having earlier won the California Breeders Champion Stakes. His $442,502 in earnings is nearly four times that of the second richest runner in the race, Chief Planner, who has earned $117,796.

Excessivepleasure is by In Excess, out of the Falstaff mare Pleasing, and was bred by Cypress Farms 1991 and Vessels Stallion Farm.

Chief Planner is by General Meeting, out of the Fappiano mare Flag of Freedom, and was bred by Mr. and Mrs. John Mabee. He has only a maiden win, but has finished in the money in three graded stakes and is coming off a second in a Mar. 30 allowance race.

Bold N Broke is by Ide, out of the Sovereign Dancer mare Sovereign Appeal, and was bred by Feng, Cheng and Sise. His only win was a Sept. 14 debut at Fairplex Park.

Clover Situation is by Proud Irish, out of the Mr. Long mare Situada, and was bred by Scott Merrill. He won a $40,000 maiden claimer and a starter's allowance race in 10 starts and was third in the Golden State Mile.
Guaritta is by Bertrando, out of the Skywalker mare Irregardless, and was bred by Edward Nahem. His only win in five starts came in a $40,000 claimer. This is his stakes debut.

Star of Grace is by Unusual Heat, out of the Miswaki mare Gracebridge, and was bred by Granja Mexico. He has two wins in four starts and this is his stakes debut.

Tiz a Coup is by Cee's Tizzy, out of the Hoedown's Day mare Big Squaw, and was bred by C-Punch Ranch. In three starts, he has two wins, the most recent by disqualification Mar. 21.

Uncle Jack is by Cee's Tizzy, out of the Flying Victor mare Love Me Again, and was bred by Donald Valpredo. He has finished first in his last three races, although was disqualified to second Mar. 21. This is his stakes debut.

Winning Stripes is by Candy Stripes, out of the Marshua's Dancer mare Ali's Dancer, and was bred by Thomas Bachman. He has two wins in seven starts and was second in the Golden State Mile and fourth in the El Camino Real Derby.
