INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 28, 2002) --Affairintheforest captured the $70,000 Reliable Wholesale Lumber Big Jag Stakes Sunday at Gold Rush III at Hollywood Park.

The 4-year-old son of Black Tie Affair, out of the Pirate's Bounty mare Forest Haven, was bred by Allan Fainbarg and Arnold Feuerstein. He was trained by Herbert Bacorn and ridden by Goncalino Almeida.

Affairintheforest broke his maiden last June, but after a fourth-place finish in the Real Good Deal Stakes, was sidelined for eight months, returning to finish fourth Apr. 13 in an allowance race. This was his second win in seven career starts.

La Bandera was second and Ride And Shine was third.
