INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 28, 2002) -- Adminniestrator, runner-up in the race a year ago, rallied through the stretch Sunday to win the $100,000 Quicken Tree Stakes leading off Gold Rush III at
Hollywood Park. Adminniestrator is a 5-year-old gelded son of Incinderator, out of the Golden Eagle II mare AdmiraL Minnie, and was bred by Fred Sahadi. He went off as the favorite and won by two lengths. Turkish Prize, who moved into contention going into the far turn, was second. Our Main Man was third. The winner was claimed for $50,000 out of a winning race last June, then was idle until finishing fourth in the Mar. 24 Crystal Water Handicap. The Quicken Tree was his seventh win in 26 career starts and raised his earnings to $348,810. Five of the wins have come on the Hollywood Park turf course. In last year's Quicken Tree, Adminniestrator's closing rush fell a neck short to Ringaskiddy, who won the $400,000 Grade I San Juan Capistrano last Sunday. Adminniestrator is trained by Patrick Gallagher and owned by Nico Nierenberg. He was ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye.
