Krone to Ride in Cal Cup

ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 30, 2002) -- Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone will return to the saddle this week and has three mounts in Saturday's California Cup XIII at Oak Tree at Santa Anita.

Krone, who retired in 1999, has a call to ride Cee's Elegance in the $150,000 Matron and is named on both Yes We Do and Mabel Kent (also-eligible) in the $150,000 Distaff.

Krone also was named to ride First Draft in the $50,000 California Cup Distance Handicap, but she ran in Wednesday's seventh race at Santa Anita for a $62,500 claiming tag and finished third.
