Can Major Wager Take the Heat?
JAMAICA, N.Y. (Dec. 31, 2001) - Major Wager, a 4-year-old Florida-bred daughter of California stallion Valid Wager, takes on win machine Xtra Heat Tuesday in the six furlong $75,000 Interborough Handicap at Aqueduct.
Out of the Icecapade mare Amidst, Major Wager was a $150,000 purchase at the 2000 Ocala March sale and has won four of 11 races and $189,616. She is looking for her first stakes win.
Xtra Heat has 17 wins and three seconds in 22 lifetime starts and finished second to Squirtle Squirt in the Breeders Cup Sprint.
