Rare Charmer Has Date With War Chant
ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 29, 2001) - Rare Charmer, the California-bred winner of the Grade II Buena Vista Handicap and Fran's Valentine Stakes, has been retired and will be bred to 2000 Breeders Cup Mile winner War Chant.
Breeder/owner Nick Carfarchia told the Daily Racing Form the 6-year-old mare injured an ankle. The daughter of Slewpy, out of the Kennedy Road mare Dancing Road, won eight of 24 starts and $540,216.
