Slewpy Dead at 21

SOLVANG, Calif. (Dec. 20, 2001) - California stallion Slewpy, the son of Seattle Slew who sired Breeders Cup Sprint winner Thirty Slews, died Wednesday night at Flag Is Up Farm. He was 21.

A multiple Grade I stakes winner of $710,248, Slewpy has 14 crops and progeny earnings of more than $16 million.

Slewpy, out of the Prince John mare Rare Bouquet, sired 26 stakes winners, including graded stakes winners Thirty Slews, Road To Slew, Slerp, Mr. Nickerson, Rare Charmer, Miss Slewpy, Gray Slewpy and Callide Valley, as well as California champion sprinter Surachai and the promising 3-year-old Waingarth.
