Mabee-Bred Pair Go for Corona

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 14, 2001) - Notable Career and Song of the Moment, both bred in California by John and Betty Mabee, are the only California-breds entered in Sunday's $70,000 Corona Handicap at six furlongs for fillies and mares at Hollywood Park.

Notable Career is a daughter of Avenue of Flags, out of the Smarten mare Excellent Lady. Notable Career was a Grade I winner as a 2-year-old, but has been soundly beaten three times since returning from a 10-month layoff, including an eighth-place finish in the California Cup Matron.

Song of the Moment is by River Special, out of the Secretariat mare Memorable Moment. She won three races as a 2-year-old, but is winless in five races since returning from a nine-month layoff and was seventh in the Cal Cup Distaff.
