Favorite Funtime Goes for Dahlia

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 13, 2001) - Cat's Cradle Handicap champ Favorite Funtime and longshot Apollo's Music are the California-bred representatives in Saturday's $150,000 Grade II Dahlia Handicap for fillies and mares at Hollywood Park.

Favorite Funtime is a multiple stakes-winning 4-year-old daughter of Seeking the Gold, out of the Youth mare Promising Girl, and was bred by John and Betty Mabee. The Nov. 23 $100,000 Cat's Cradle was Favorite Funtime's fifth win in 10 career starts.

Apollo's Music, a 5-year-old and assigned the light weight in the field at 108 pounds, broke her maiden in her 14th career start Nov. 9. She is a daughter of Apollo, out of the Northjet mare Tritos, and was bred by Jack Sanders. With 11 in-the-money finishes, she has earnings of $113,966.
