California Ties Represented in Hong Kong

HONG KONG (Dec. 12, 2001) - A trio of horses entered in Sunday's Hong Kong International Races have California ties.

Tapildo, a multiple Group I winning New Zealand-bred daughter of California stallion Rhythm, is entered in the $1.8 million Group I Hong Kong Vase. The 4-year-old filly is out of the Sir Tristam mare Emulate and earlier this year won the New Zealand Oaks and the Raffles International Cup, two of four wins this year in eight starts.

Plenty-Plenty, a New Zealand-bred 6-year-old gelded son of California stallion Dance Floor, is entered in the Group I Hong Kong Sprint. He is out of the Final Straw mare Daring Daphne, was sixth in last year's Hong Kong Sprint and has eight wins in 40 career starts.

Silvano, a multiple Grade I German-bred winner by Lomitas, out of the California-bred Beau's Eagle mare Spirit of Eagles, is entered in the $2.3 million Group I Hong Kong Cup. He won the Queen Elizabeth II, the Arlington Million and the Singapore Cup. Spirit of Eagles is a full sister to millionaire Best Pal.
