Lil Sister Stich Wins Golden Poppy ALBANY, Calif. (Dec. 8, 2001) - California-bred Lil Sister Stich followed her win in the California Cup Distaff Starters Handicap with a win Saturday in the $71,500 Golden Poppy Stakes over open company at Golden Gate Fields. The daughter of Seattle Bound, out of the Never Tabled mare Never Tarnished, was bred by Gary and Marlene Howard. She ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:46.55, winning wire-to-wire with the final margin one length. The win was Lil Sister Stich's fourth in her last five races, a string that started in a $12,500 claiming race. It was her fifth win in 10 lifetime starts and raised her career earnings to $111,795.
