Cal-Bred Fillies Spotlighted in Golden Ballet INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 7, 2001) - A field of seven California-bred 2-year-old fillies is entered in Saturday's $50,000 Golden Ballet Stakes, going 6 ½ furlongs at Hollywood Park. One of the likely favorites is Bella Bella Bella, a daughter of Soft Gold, out of the Slewpy mare Interactive, bred by Southern Nevada Racing Stables. She won her debut Oct. 25 and was purchased by Team Valor, which also purchased Golden Ballet. Cable Ready, who by disqualification won Wednesday's Free House Stakes, the colt and gelding equivalent of the Golden Ballet, also is by Soft Gold and was bred by Southern Nevada Racing Stables. And Southern Nevada Racing Stables also owns and bred another entrant in the Golden Ballet, Daddy's Gold, a maiden daughter of Devil's Rock, out of the Zickity Zach mare Lila's Date, who finished second in her only race Nov. 18. Mamacafe is a daughter of Stage Colony, out of the Agitate mare Windy Tate, and was bred by Sandy Mattei. She closed strongly to finish second Nov. 4 in a turf sprint. Martial's Princess is a daughter of Martial Law, out of the Dramatic Bid mare Dramatic Bam, and was bred by James Hampton. She was runner-up in the July 20 California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Stakes and was fourth in a Nov. 14 allowance. Icantgoforthat is a daughter of In Excess, out of the Copelan mare Texinadress, and was bred by Michael Pegram. She was claimed Nov. 28 when finishing second. Mama Mama is a daughter of Bonus Money, out of the Dayjur mare Day Devil, and was bred by Ron Gomez. She was second in the Sept. 27 California Sires Stakes, but has been outrun in stakes her last two times out. Widow Black is a daughter of Iam the Iceman, out of the Shananie mare Naskrananie, and was bred by Ken Porter. She was claimed for $40,000 while winning Nov. 2.
