Son of Helmsman Finalist for Award
TORONTO, Canada (Dec. 4, 2001) - Rare Friends, a Canadian-bred son of California stallion Helsman, is a finalist for the Sovereign Award for the champion 2-year-old colt or gelding.
Bred by Gardiner Farms, Rare Friends is a gelding out of the unraced Carson City mare Legion Etrangene. Rare Friends has three stakes wins and $247,365 in earnings.
Also vying for the award are Gone West's Change in the Weather and Bold Executive's Streakin Rob.
