Cal-Bred 2-Year-Olds Battle in Free House Stakes INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 3, 2001) - Beau Brummel Stakes winner Debonaire Joe leads a field of seven California-bred 2-year-olds Wednesday in the $50,000 Free House Stakes at Hollywood Park. Debonaire Joe is a son of Ole, out of the Debonaire Roger mare Malita, and was bred by Craig Lewis and Mira Loma Thoroughbred Farm. He finished fourth in the Nov. 3 Cal Cup Juvenile, was second in the Jessman Cloud Memorial and is the leading earner in the field with $78,340. Main Player is a son of Avenue of Flags, out of the Alysheba mare Sheba's Charmer, and was bred by Omar Aldabbagh. He won a $62,500 claiming race Nov. 14. Ima Mile High Guy is a son of Flying Continental, out of the Raja Baba mare Double Entry, and was bred by Nancy Yearsley and J. Garvin Kelly. He won a maiden special weight race Nov. 17. Smartexcess is a son of In Excess, out of the Smarten mare Right Smart Girl, and was bred by Smith Family Trust and M.T. and W. Siemon. He broke his maiden Nov. 11 in a $40,000 maiden claimer. Iza Chili Bean is a son of Iz a Saros, out of the Out of the East mare Barbie Karen, and was bred by Licia Lynn Bean. He won an Oct. 24 maiden special weight. Glittering Stone is a son of Glitterman, out of the Wolf Power mare Grey Stone, and was bred by Applebite Farm. He finished third in a Nov. 21 $40,000 claimer. Cable Ready is a son of Soft Gold, out of the Turkoman mare Turko Milady, and was bred by Southern Nevada Racing Stables. He won a Nov. 4 $32,000 maiden claimer.
