Men's Exclusive Beats Caller One

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2001) - California-bred millionaire Men's Exclusive wore down odds-on favorite Caller One in the stretch and went on to successfully defend his title in the $100,000 Grade III Vernon O. Underwood Stakes Sunday at Hollywood Park.

The 8-year-old gelded son of Exclusive Ribot, out of the Meneval mare Men's Number, was bred by owner H.E Reed. He went off as the 5-1 second choice, running the six furlongs in 1:09.06 and beating Tavasco by one-half length. Caller One, running for the third time in five weeks, was another neck back in third.

The outcome was revenge for Men's Exclusive, who finished second to Caller One in the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen in March. Men's Exclusive has won 10 of 35 starts and $1,171,758.
