CHRB Closes in on Account Wagering SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2001) - The California Horse Racing Board Friday approved a series of rules changes to pave the way for the introduction of advance deposit wagering. The new rules must be approved by the state's Office of Administrative Law, which is likely to take about 30 days. Meanwhile, applications are now being accepted by the CHRB for hub licenses and could be granted at its next meeting, Jan. 24. Account wagering could start by late January or early February. In other action taken, the CHRB will permit the display of advertising on jockey attire, owner silks and track saddlecloths. The board also added clenbuterol to the list of medications for which trace levels are allowed in post-race urine samples. Copyright © 1998-2001 California Thoroughbred Breeders Association |
