Favorite Funtime Has Fun Time in Cat's Cradle
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 23, 2001) - Favorite Funtime led wire to wire, turning back the bid of Feverish to capture the $100,000 Cat's Cradle Handicap for fillies at mares Friday at Hollywood Park.
The daughter of Seeking the Gold, out of the Youth mare Promising Girl, was bred by Mr. and Mrs. John Mabee. She was coming off a sharp second-place finish to Cee Dreams in the California Cup Matron.
The Cat's Cradle was Favorite Funtime's fifth win in 10 lifetime starts and raised her career earnings to $285,900. She ran the 7½ furlongs in 1:28.03 and finished one length ahead of Feverish, with Queenie Belle another length back in third.
