Lady George Tries Graded Stakes

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 21, 2001) - Lady George, upset winner of the California Cup Juvenile Fillies, is the lone California-bred entered in Friday's $200,000 Grade III Miesque Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at one mile on the Hollywood Park turf course.

The daughter of Lake George, out of the Kennedy Road mare Metro Link, was a $2,500 Barretts October yearling purchase and was bred by Bedford Stables and Stonehenge Stables. Lady George went off at 15-1 in the Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies, her first stakes win.

In Lady George's only previous try on the grass, she finished seventh in the Hidden Light Stakes, won by La Martina, who is entered in the Miesque.
