
CTBA Del Mar Yearling Sale to be Broadcast Via Satellite
July 12, 2000-ARCADIA, CA -- In its on-going mission to develop and enhance California's yearling marketplace, CTBA Sales will for the second year in a row provide a satellite broadcast of this year's Del Mar Yearling Sale August 14 and 15 live from the Del Mar HorsePark.
"CTBA Sales was very encouraged by the participation in the satellite bidding last year," said CTBA General Manager Doug Burge. "The Del Mar Yearling Sale now appeals to both national and international markets because of the vastly improved quality of our yearlings. This live broadcast is a tremendous way to introduce the Del Mar Yearling Sale to this new audience."
The broadcast will enable interested buyers from around the country to view each yearling and bid on the auction live via satellite. All buyers must register with CTBA Sales prior to the sale. Approved bidders will be given a personal identification number (P.I.N.), allowing then to bid by telephone.
To receive the signal, downlinkers are asked to tune their satellite to Telstar 5 C-band - Transponder/ Channel 7 on Monday August 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific Time, and Tuesday August 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
